Artwork Description:

The title is, SPANISH CIVIL WAR TOLEDO 1936 JULY, THE ALCAZAR. This was my first etching that dealt with the SPANISH CIVIL WAR, 1936-1939. I used a variety of plate techniques including intaglio, dry point, and aquatint. I used a blend of three colors of oil-based printing inks to obtain this tone. The Italian paper used was Magnani Pescia, Cream color, a paper from a mill that is over 400 years old. The size of the print measures fifteen inches high by eleven inches wide. I hand printed and published this edition at The Center for Works on Paper in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. Please note that this etching is shipped to the collector without a frame or mat. This keeps the price low and allows the collector personal choice in matt selection and framing. A sturdy cardboard box is employed for shipping the work. The etching is first wrapped in two layers of acid free glassine and then placed between two archival boards. This is next placed into the shipping carton and securely packed with bubble wrap. The Absolute Arts Dot Com price includes all handling costs, shipment supplies, and the coast of the shipment box. Mailing costs are added.
