Artwork Description:
This etching is unique in that I employed four individual zinc plates to produce one single printed image. Each plate measures 3 inches high by 5 inches wide and were aligned and positioned on the printing press bed in a two over two horizontal design. The printmaking techniques include aquatint, intaglio, and drypoint. The image was inspired by a glass negative from The Library of Congress, Washington D. C., Prints and Photographs Division, Collection of The Detroit Publishing Company. It features the Jackson Monument, which sits in front of the St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans, Louisiana. Please note that this etching is shipped to the collector without a frame or mat. This keeps the price low and allows the collector personal choice in matt selection and framing. A sturdy cardboard box is employed for shipping the work. The etching is first wrapped in two layers of acid free glassine and then placed between two archival boards. This is next placed into the shipping carton and securely packed with bubble wrap. The Absolute Arts Dot Com price includes all handling costs, shipment supplies, and the coast of the shipment box. Mailing costs are added.
