The one-of-a-kind mixed media work was created by combining etching and mono printing moreover, I hand printed it at The Center for Works on Paper, 705 Christian Street in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, US, which is part of The Fleisher Art School. This individual work is part of the artist’s VEIL OF VERONICA series and was created within THE OPEN STUDIO IN PRINTMAKING. The narrative is based on Christ s execution on Good Friday. On His way to Calvary, Christ stopped in front of a woman named Veronica. She stepped in front of Christ and washed the blood and dirt from His face with her veil. According to Early Christian legend, an exact facial imprint of Jesus was transferred onto her cloth. THE ETCHING PORTION OF THIS ARTWORK WAS EXECUTED ON A ZINC-PLATE SEVERAL NITRIC ACID BATHS WERE EMPLOYED TO OBTAIL FINAL RESULT. Media include: Silk screen ink oil-base etching ink with silver metallic pigments and Stonehenge brand printmaking paper now made in USA color-Stone Gray. The price includes frame, archival mat, packing carton, handling costs, and bubble wrap.
