Artwork Description:

ANGELIC HEIRACHY, ROUEN, CHURCH OF SAINT OVEN AND THE GREEN MUSHROOM VISION. This original, hand-pulled intaglio etching by Jerry Gerard Di Falco was based on an archival photograph from the digital archives of The New York City Public Library. The artist first creates several original drawings of the photo, which he then transfers in reverse onto a treated zinc plate. The work features a star-window from the Church of Saint Oven in Rouen, France. The artist blended five colors of Parisian oil-based inks, Charbonnel brand, and printed on STONEHENGE black paper. A total of twelve acid baths were required to obtain the final desired design. The star shape in this window relates to King Otto or Dagobert. The imagery on the inside of the church shows the angelic heirachy in heaven, and it is worth a trip to this church just to see this windows mystical details. Keywords include star, France, Intaglio, angels, transept, rose window, Pentagram, Knights Templar, PENTAGLE, church of Saint Oven, King Otto, and Rouen. Please note that this etching is shipped to the buyer without a frame or mat. This keeps the price reasonable and also allows the collector a wide range of choice in framing selection. For shipment, a sturdy cardboard box is employed. The etching is first wrapped in two layers of acid free glassine and then placed between two archival boards. This is next placed into the shipping box and securely packed with bubble wrap. The price does not include any shipment costs.
