Artwork Description:
This etching is based on an optical-line, ink drawing that I executed in 1971, however in this work I also combined elements of a Cuban propaganda billboard of Che Guevara with a Byzantine icon of Christ. The only studio ETCHING technique I used was INTAGLIO, and the work was executed in a blend of reds and blues, oil-based inks on STONEHENGE Gray printers paperPlease note that this etching is shipped and sold to the buyer without a frame or mat. This keeps the price reasonable and also allows the collector a wide range of choice in framing selection. For shipment, a sturdy cardboard box is employed. The etching is first wrapped in two layers of acid free glassine and then placed between two archival boards. This is next placed into the shipping box and securely packed with bubble wrap. The price does NOT shipment costs to the collector.
