Artwork Description:
The title is, Rose, Laurel Hill, Angel of Cocteau. This hand-pulled etching, in which I used the Studio techniques of intaglio and aquatint, is based on one of my many photographs taken over the past thirty-seven years at Laurel Hill Resting Ground, Philadelphia’s Victorian-era cemetery. The zinc plate underwent three workings and subsequent baths in Nitric acid. The plate size is five inches high by seven inches wide or 12,700cm by 17.180cm. Media consists of French, oil based etching ink on Rives BFK white paper. Four editions of five etchings per edition exist, and this print is from the 4th edition.
