Artwork Description:
Title is,1890 Venice View of San Gorgio from the Palace of the Doge. For this etching I employed the printmaking techniques of intaglio, aquatint, and drypoint and executed the work on two individual zinc plates to constitute one printed image. The scene was adapted from an 1890 photograph in the US Library of Congress, Washington, D. C. The oil base black ink is Charbonnel brand and the paper is RivesBFK white, both imported from France. This is from the first edition, which is limited to only ten prints. The print size measures 16 inches wide by 15 inches high. The work was hand printed and published by the artist at The Center for Works on Paper in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Please note that this etching is shipped to the collector without a frame or mat. This keeps the price low and allows the collector personal choice in mat selection and framing. A sturdy cardboard box is employed for shipping the work. The etching is first wrapped in two layers of acid free glassine and then placed between two archival boards. This is next placed into the shipping carton and securely packed with bubble wrap. The Absolute Arts Dot Com price includes all handling costs, shipment supplies, Certificate of Authenticity, and the shipment carton. Mailing and transportation costs are added to the price.
