Artwork Description:

This print is from edition III of IV in the Pirates Alley Series. A glass frame is included in the price. The inspiration for this hand pulled original etching by Jerry Di Falco originated with one of the his own photographs taken with Kodak black and white film on a Minolta 35mm camera. DiFalco’s etching features Pirate’s Alley in New Orleans’ French Quarter, located next to the cathedral’s rear side. This willowy and mysterious side street has a colorful history of bars, opium dens and boarding houses for pirates over 200 years past. DiFalco used oil base, French ink and RivesBFK white paper. Three colors of Mulberry bark paper from Thailand, which the artist had treated with methyl cellulose, was utilized in his Chine colle process. The zinc etching plate measured six inches high by eight inches, and the frame size is eleven inches high by fourteen inches wide. The STUDIO TECHNIQUES employed by DiFalco included Aquatint, Drypoint, Chine colle, and Intaglio. The etching was hand printed by Di Falco in FOUR EDITIONS, each limited to only FIVE PRINTS. This particular etching is from the THIRD EDITION. THE PRICE INCLUDES A FRAME and MAT. THIS ETCHING SHIPPED IN A PROFESSIONAL CARDBOARD BOX PACKED WITH BUBBLE WRAP. PLEASE NOTE THAT YOUR ART ARRIVES WIRED AND HEADY TO HANG. A WALL HOOK AND NAIL ARE ALSO INCLUDED.
