Artwork Description:

This print has three editions of nine prints each two editions of the image executed in black ink Charbonnel brand from Paris, France, LefrancBourgeois on white paper Rives BFK from France with Chine Colle process this one with a red Japanese paper overlay during press process the second in pink and magenta and the third done in silver-metallic ink Charbonnel brand from Paris, France, LefrancBourgeois, aluminum in oil-base on black paper from Great Britain, STONEHENGE brand. The colored paper used in my chine colle process is Unryu paper, a Thailand made mulberry Paper that is all natural and infused with Japanese kozo threads. The actual image was taken from a color photograph I shot at the Louvre Museum in Paris 1987. This print is executed on two individual zinc plates, which are placed on the press together and rolled onto the paper simultaneously. Each intimate plate size is three inches high by two inches wide, amking the image size six inches high by two inches wide. Print size is 15 INCHES BY 11 INCHES. The etching techniques include INTAGLIO AQUATINT CHINE COLLE and DRY POINT. Visual elements of my etchings include a pictorial ballet of shadow and light, the manipulation of optical effects via use of plate textures, and, a hard edge use of line and geometric form to tantalize the field of depth. I hand printed and published this edition at The Center for Works on Paper in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. Please note that this etching is shipped to the collector without a frame or mat. This keeps the price low and allows the collector personal choice in matt selection and framing. A sturdy cardboard box is employed for shipping the work. The etching is first wrapped in two layers of acid free glassine and then placed between two archival boards. This is next placed into the shipping carton and securely packed with bubble wrap. The Absolute Arts Dot Com price includes all handling costs, shipment supplies, and the coast of the shipment box. Mailing costs are added.
