Artwork Description:
The Victor depicts the story of a white whale and the ship he wrecked. It was inspired by the story of Moby Dick and the Essex, and comes as 2 pieces. This artwork was created using a method called ‘spun steel’an old blacksmithing technique where the metal strips are heated, formed and welded in place to form the final piece. I then completed each piece with a patina finish, airbrushing for extra detail, to make them seem more realistic. Both are mounted on stone, but can easily be transferred to another base. I plan to create more ocean-inspired metal artwork, but am also open to creating commissioned piecese. g., sea life or wildlifeas long as it is possible to create them using one of my metal-sculpting techniques.
