This was a failed piece, made out of a top notch marble, and had been around the studio for years. My apprentice at the time, Karen Oschal, was cleaning up and said, Why don't you rework this sculpture? It's not that far off. Or throw it out. Stuff like this is just wasting space. So I reworked it.
