Artwork Description:

Based on a live model in my studio, this sculpture is carved from English Lime-Wood. The body of this sculpture is finished with artist s gesso and the deer head is highlighted with acrylic paint, then the entire sculpture has been varnished to protect it from dust and fingerprints and to achieve a matt finish. Mounted on a cube made from Eucalyptus plywood this sculpture is intended to be wall mounted and the base is drilled to enable this. However it can also be displayed as a self standing sculpture if preferred. Being carved by hand with traditional tools each sculpture is completely unique. Both the carving and the base are signed by the artist and a Certificate of Authenticity is provided with this sculpture.
