Artwork Description:
Rusted Vines and Hinges is a continuation of the experimentation of using architectural ironwork to create surface design for textile wall art. Antique wrought ironwork, iron and brass hinges from the 1800s are utilized in creating the images on this heavily hand stitched artwork. The brass hinge leaves a mint green ghost image in the upper left of the piece while the two iron hinges leave much more detailed and definite images on the lower right. Once again, the artwork is designed to be displayed in either a vertical or horizontal orientation which gives the work a new appearance with each change in display.
