Artwork Description:

Rottnest is just over the water from Fremantle in Western Australia. It is a wonderful holiday island, where everyone can enjoy nature and funtimes. A group of we artists go over every year, and so are familiar with combining leisure and work in a pristine environment. My family have ties to the Island, my grandfather was coxwain on the pilot boat in the 1870s. In those days it was rowing from Fremantle or Rottnest out to the sailing ships. A hard life. I love the wonderful beaches on Rottnest.
