Artwork Description:
The Moon goddess in the Mayan mythology is like Venus in the Greek mythology. Both have many love encounters with other gods. The Mayan lived in Central America, in Guatemala, Honduras and Mexico. They had a written language that is being deciphered by scholars nowadays. They also had a deep knowledge of math and astronomy, and a very rich pantheon with gods and demons, semi-gods, sacred animals, and plants. which I am using in my artwork. As the Mayan used it in vases, sculptures, murals and codex/codexes. This watercolor is painted in a 140 lbs. cold pressed watercolor paper. And it has a simple cardboard frame (matted).
