Artwork Description:
This drawing captures the symbolic strength of the pigeon as a totem, and highlight the fantail pigeons stunning tail which is composed of 30 to 40 feathers. The fantail pigeon stands out as it is used by pigeon flyers in the training of racing pigeons and Tipplers, and is placed on the loft landing board as a signal to the flying birds to come in and be fed.
The pigeon then brings with it a strong lesson in having freedom while still using your senses to find your way back to the stabilities that home represents.
Drawn here with a range of grey-blue and soft magenta tones to highlight the sense of spirit, and soft strokes of brown to capture the sense of groundedness that comes with returning home.
