Little villages in the rural area in the vicinity of Beijing retain the traditional habit of air- drying their clothes by hanging them onto a bamboo rope and having it leaned onto the wall outside of their house. The wall is painted in the brilliant orange-red color that symbolizes blessings in the Chinese tradition so to accentuate the overall atmosphere of the small Chinese village.
