Artwork Description:
The correct description of the technique used for this work is graphics on Beresta. Beresta or birch bark is the bark of the birth threes genus Betula. The strong, water-resistant bark was used as writing material, since pre-historic times. Today it remains a valuable crafting and art material. Presented here are the works made in a style “graphics on birch bark”. The workflow is as following: I collect bark of the dead threes, clean it and place under press. The rest is simple, one just has to find a picture created by the nature on an individual bark piece and then to add a “human touch”. A little, just enough not to spoil its natural beauty. The work is framed and under passepartout 30x40 cm
