FEDERICO WINQVIST ESTRADA'S PREMIERE ARTIST PORTFOLIO

If we define contrast as the opposition or juxtaposition of different forms, lines, or colors in a work of art to intensify each element's properties and produce a more dynamic expressiveness. Then this definition undoubtedly would apply to the work of Mexican born, Swedish resident Federico Winqvis Estrada.
However this definition can be applied in a more extensive sense, including structures as smooth surface in opposition to rough or textures like matte finish opposed to glossy parties. Even in relation to the theme; flesh in contrast with spirituality. Or even more as shown in Federico`s latest works, the frequently despised insects and beetles in combination with the crown of creation; the human form.

“I´m a great lover of vivid color and of well defined lines, I enjoy creating contrasts and then struggle to make them harmonize For example hard straight forms against soft rhythmical curves or dark shades against bright hues, often complementary colors".
"My painting reflects largely my somewhat extreme nature. I am a very intense and passionate person just like the red-orange color scheme in my canvas, while at the same time I can suffer from melancholy and an awareness of life's briefness as shown in the turquoise blue color scheme.”
"My work is a combination of both Latin-American and European traditions. I find my inspiration in the Mexican mural painters such as Tamayo, the German Expressionist movement of Blauer Reiter, the French school of Matisse and Fauvism".

Beyond any doubt Federico`s colorful pallet is an inheritance from his homeland, Mexico, the country of thousands contrasts.
