Artist Statement -

My passion for art began as a very young child. As an adult, having survived an abusive childhood and undergone a long healing process, I realized how powerful art is as a tool to heal. After healing from my own trauma I felt a need to bring awareness via art exhibition, to the atrocities perpetrated against our most vulnerable. Hence, I created 'Survivor Activist Art'. From Darfur to Cambodia to Nepal and many more, these works of art have been exhibited and published for awareness sake and exhibited nationally and a slide show of my work along with other survivors was exhibited globally. I am a member of the RAINN (Rape and Incest National Network) Public Speakers Bureau. I am also the recipient of the 2013 Massachusetts Unsung Heroines Award for my activism and advocacy. I also have a pet portrait business and work by commission.
