Artists Describing Their Art:
Maria Teresa Fernandes - Admiring Teresa's paintings we are touched by her pictorial sensitivity. Difficult task in light colors (volume and transparencies on a clear basis). Few do it due to the required dedication with pallete knife(no brush). It's painting consacrated by the love to paint. Radha Abramo(Renowned art critique)comments at Solo Exhibition Catalog at SESC Paulista in June 84 -( sent at request and reproduced in one of the pages of this site). ...
Mukul Pipalia - From Chicago. Self taught. Love and enjoy painting. I mostly use chop sticks and knife and blades etc to layer paint on paper. As simple as that.. Most of my acrylics are done this way, non-brush method. Recently I got into watercolours and am kind of feeling forced into having to use brushes. We will see what happens next. As long as the Joy doesn't stop I will keep doing it, just like my other passion music. ...
Jerry Maloney - Contemporary artist Jerry Maloney, uses a realistic style that falls somewhere between Impressionism and Photo-realism which creates soothing yet vibrant images that are reminiscent of the Luminists school of painting.I have always been inspired by the beauty of light in nature. Painters such as Bierstadt, Church, and Inness have always been major influences in my art along with many of the Impressionists states the talented artist. These influences are readily apparent in the beautiful oil paintings of Florida Colorado and landscapes that fill the walls of his Spring Hill studio. Although landscapes and seascapes are the artists preferred subjects, he is equally proficient in portraiture, still life, caricature, graphic design digital or traditional and cartooning. Oil paint on canvas is the most common choice of medium for the artist closely followed by acrylic paint, pastel chalk, colored pencil and water color. Drawing and painting since childhood, this emerging artist received his formal training from the University of Michigans School of Art, Colorado Universitys Colorado Mountain College, St. Petersburg College, Florida State University where he received a Bachelors Degree in Studio Art and through numerous workshops conducted by many prominent artists. By the way I am not a workaholic as I don't consider what I do work. I enjoy life too much. I forgot to say I am also a weight lifter as lifting weights is my Zen. When I am troubled the concentration it takes to lift makes me calm. I guess my page will probably be a little different from what people expect. Sorry I have not been uploading new work as ...
Sue Jacobsen - My "artist's eye" seeks both the extraordinary and the ordinarily-overlooked moments in nature, and presents them in a way that allows the viewer to see what I've seen--and loved enough to want to share it. My regional landscapes, painted in oil, capture the rural flavor of the Wood River Valley in Idaho where I've lived and worked for over 30 years. Previously, California coastal areas were my genre. My love of the ocean and its awesome infinity is equaled in the grandeur and peace of the nearby mountains --again, infinite subjects for my paintings. Just as my professional training in graphic design at Art Center School in Los Angeles served me well when I turned my creative skills to easel painting, this then enabled me to move with ease and enthusiasm when sculpture'found me', and I learned to see with new eyes--in 3 dimensions now! My sculptures are figurative, of people or animals, and I seem to have special ability to capture the likeness and personality of my subjects. While I consider myself to be primarily self-taught, I continue to seek out other professional painters and sculptors whose work I admire, with...
Theekshana Kumara - In this modern age, there is no differentiation of art into sculpture, graphic art etc. All these belong to visual art. In the creation of a visual art, there is no classification into sculpture of clay or some other solid substance, or attribution of the canvas and oil paint for art. A visual art can be created with any substance or colour encountered in our daily life. Neither is an art gallery necessary for the display of a visual art. Any place appropriate for the creation can be used for the purpose. Age of communication began in 2000. Because of the computer, visual art began to progress rapidly. Today it has advanced up to digital pictures. Art was born to achieve some specific objective. Art came to be expressed through audio and visual media. Therefore, human art has not been divided into canvas, brush and oil paint. A visual art can be built by utilising of any material or colour encountered in daily life. An art gallery is not required to display a visual art. Any appropriate place can be used for the purpose. ...
Pamela Henry - I am a Photography Artist. My process crosses analog and digital borders. Initially my images are captured on film, slides or digitally. I use a range of techniques from cross-process development and polaroid manipulation to digital painting, collage and layering to create what you see here. If I were to condense my thoughts on photographic expression into a single phrase it would be "in the moment". The moment begins at first sight and is complete when I release the shutter, lift my stylo from the polaroid, or remove my hand from the mouse. I know I will relive that feeling each time I look at the image, like a song or a smell that transports you to another place and time. This photographic expression translates beyond verbal expression and rests in your being, invoking a subjective reaction based on your experiences. Herein lies a collection of such moments. ...
Marc De Groote - One of the top 25 Canadian artist invited to compete in the Wildlife Habitat Canada Conservation Stamp Competition. Wildlife artist extraordinaire, come and experience wildlife art as you rarely will see today, Marc's extreme detailed artworks will amaze you. His ability to capture nature at its finest will allow you the experience of being at one with nature. I consider myself a realist artist, greatly influenced by the beauty of nature. The extreme detail created in the natural world is beyond comprehension. My primary objective is to capture that detail with the intent for viewers to contemplate these familiar visions from a different vantage point of being there with nature. To be able to get close to wildife is an near impossible task my art allows the viewer to experience the feeling of being real close. ...

Dorothy Nuckolls - I am a self taught artist. I have been painting for about 30 years. My love of art began as a child. The awesome beauty of nature and the magic of color always intrigued me. To reproduce God's art; wheather it be outdoor sences, or portairts; has always been a goal for me. I started doing portairts in 2002 and realize that, that was what I really loved to do.Now I specialize mostly in portairts. I hope you enjoy my collection as much as I enjoyed painting it. James Parker - Painting, drawing, and to a lesser degree, photography, have been the driving creative force in my life for the past two years. The changing circumstances of life have allowed this to happen, and for this I am quite grateful. Pin and ink, liquid watercolors, acrylics, and the mixing of mediums are used for these works. My art is somewhere between reality and fantasy, with perhaps a unique style (as all are) which is slowly maturing. Much of my work I try to make light, colorful and fun, and even somewhat premitive with a touch of fantasy. Rustic little cabin scenes, and most seascapes perhaps show this best. Landscapes--mountains, trees, ocean and beach scenes, these are my favorite subjects. I prefer to work quite small. Most paintings and drawings come with wooden 11"X14" frames and hand selected colored mattes. These smaller sized works I have found to be excellent for creating pictures that are both colorful enough and detailed enough to carry an "impact". A few fine art's photographs taken back in the late eighties, some of which were published by a national calendar company in 1989 and 90 are also offered here. Those hundreds of hours looking ...
