Artwork Description:
I first experienced Hamlet through the great film by Lawrence Olivier. Black and white suits this story extremely well. The sword floating free above him was a way to show how, in the famous “to be or not to be” soliloquy, that although he tries to take arms against his troubles he can’t quite do it. Having received little support as a child, Hamlet being torn apart by self-doubt is something I can relate to. https: richardclaraval. net
