Artwork Description:
With a big wink to Pieter Breughel I depict here a Flemish village around 1650. It shows how the peasants went about their daily life. The main subject in this drawing is the village pub with a few empty beer barrels outside, a visitor of the pub getting rid of to much beer while a wife is trying to drag her husband away from the entrance of the inn. We see another couple going home while a young fellow their son is following them. A wife is entering her house after her shopping errands
What I depicted is how I imagine life must have been then in these times in the Low Countries.
As media I used color pencils.
