Artwork Description:
Madonna, small scale traditional painted stained glass window. I like to try out new techniques or brush up on old once by creating a small scale painted stained glass window inspired by one from the old masters long gone, usually I focus on hands or faces and create a newly painted stained glass window small scale like ‘Madonna‘.
A great opportunity to own a traditional pictorial painted small scale stained glass window like usually only seen in churches and cathedrals for your home.
To create Madonna several glass painting techniques were used and the painted face was fired 6 times before reaching the in depth shaded appearance.
Silver stain was applied in the halo, also known as yellow stain, is used to create a yellow color on clear glass. The technique of silver stain was introduced to stained glass in the early 1300 and involves painting silver onto a piece of glass and then firing it in the kiln. Silver staining is the technique from which the term ‘stained glass’ derives.
