Mandala No. 2 was part of a series completed exploring constructs of meditation and symbolism. Number four is represented. It symbolizes stability and having a strong foundation. Four invokes the grounded nature from which things shift in order to grow. Ponder on the four seasons, the four directions, etc. Everything has a season. It’s how we respond to the season that makes the difference in strengthening our foundation.
Materials used: Beach glass, malachite, amethyst, gypsum rose, smalto, life-casted, horsehair raku fired hand and forearm.
