Artwork Description:

The piece was created over the course of three months. It began as a hand-drawn grid. Gradually I filled the cells of the grid with ink and fluid acrylic paint using a self-imposed system of applying each of the 69 colors, 30 marks at a time, ten times per color. I then applied eight layers of ink wash to the piece is an action-painting like manner. The last touch that I made to the piece was several gestural marks created with a black oil paint stick. For me, the piece represents what one does with the limited time that we have living. I use my time to make art.
