Artwork Description:
Full title: Man V Earth: Actions and Consequences. Original 10 ×10 acrylic on stretched canvas. Painted using a single plastic palette knife.. inspired by frustrations caused by watching my once beautiful home city become trashed these last few years.. Humans are the curators of the museum of life, nature and the earth. We have the ability to affect and change this planet, for better or worse, unlike any other creature known to science... aside from stromatolites maybe... our choices, and actions have far reaching consequences that can potentially impact the lives of people for many generations to come. For at least 300 years now, since the beginning of the industrial revolution, chemical processing, strip mining, deforestation, waste drainage, fossil fuel burning, crypto currency mining and an explosion in global human population, the earth and nature have suffered, dramatically. This is our last chance. It is up to millennials, generation Z, and the newest generation Alpha to make real changes. We have to find new ways of doing things if we hope to be able to continue life on this planet. Every individual can, on a daily basis, make decisions that either benefit earth and contribute to positive change, or continue on the current trajectory... towards climate change, mass extinction, pollution and destruction. Who do you want to be, what will be the consequences of your actions Why
