Artwork Description:

The composition shows three main horizontal parts. In the middle part we view a summerly garden with lilies. In the center a tree grows while casting shadow over the grass. It feels like a filmic scene and radiates restfull intimacy and organic harmony. It symbolizes our earthly nature. In complete contrast the upper horizontal part of the picture looks explosive. The different colors and spaces stand for the transcendent world and her multi-dimensions. The shining colors are fiery or contrasting warm-cold. The distribution of area is very geometric and the dynamic is hightened by the curves and diagonals. The tree in the center seems to continue into the upper part of the supernatural. This painting as a whole shows something of the paradoxality of reality: confusingly the earthly and heavenly spheres of life are as woven together as they appear separated too. The subject of the picture has a biblical background. The book of Genesis tells us about God creating the world and the universe, and how He decided to make man and planting for them a garden in Eden. And how this whole creation was ment to be eternal and governed by peace between all creatures alike. Then the text tells us that all this harmony was crushed aside. Because of a historical incident man lost his trust and friendship with God, self and the world - and by that also the animal and floral world got distorted. Manhood became cursed, and this curse distorted the whole nature of life. Against this background the content of the painting dwells again on the tree of life that ones growed in the beginning of creation and got its fruit for man to pick freely. The artists thinks over this gone dimensions of freedom of life-sense, while reality is hard most of the time. The artist believes in the old promise of God wenn He dismissed man and woman out of the garden by promising them to stop this life's situation on an appointed time in history. The promise that this boundary of death would be broken by giving His Son and cursing Him instead to another tree. The artist knows and testifies of the truth of the biblical evangely. That Jesus Christ is the cursed and then resurrected Son of God. That history will have its turn as the Bible states. With this painting the artist dwells in eager expectation, not mislead by the calmness and seemingly selfsufficiency of nature that sometimes makes it so hard to believe the world is deeper than what is behold in the eye. Even wenn the scene looks silent or empty the informed audience watches the happening unfolding. For more details see: Artborne Erdeborn at www. artduo. weebly. com
