Artwork Description:

Oil on cotton duck canvas using a paint and scrape method done in transparent yellow iron oxide, several blacks, titanium white to give the effect of chalk equations on a black board. Over-painted and scraped back several times. I had been reading about the mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan and Bernoulli s Number Sequence his work in his chosen field and some of his biography. I was very impressed by his life. It does not represent him as portrait, but as ideas and equations. And I liked the hat I stole from one of the old masters of the Renaissance.
