Artwork Description:

I have several paintings in the historic 17th century style of my native Holland (I paint them when I am homesick). This one shows a quiet shabbos afternoon in a typical Amsterdam house. The Rabbi is reading the Gazetta de Amsterdam, which was published first in 1675. The painting you see here is not available anymore, but I have similar ones. The real colors are much more billiant and deep, this photo is too 'yellowish'. You can commision paintings in old Dutch style.
