Artwork Description:

I took a photograph of the �Venus Hairse� during one of the Houston Art Car Parades. The painting portrays Houston artist and hair salon owner, Susan Venus� well-known mannequin affixed to the top of the art car as she was passing by some trees. I was struck by the similarities between the tree foliage and the sweeping lines of the hair and the patterns created between both. The serene look on the mannequin face combined with the dark sky and swirling feel of the trees create a mysterious feeling as if she is actually affecting nature and the weather as the dismembered figure floats by.
