Stuck my camera through the iron bars- could not let go of this sculpted piece.. from ancient days.. Powerful.. Imagine this mounted outside of church extending wayy out above you- Do not know if it was functional as 'rainspout' for run off for water - as many gargoyles and figures like that are.. or meant as protective symbol.. 'end ' of this one was not 'visible enough for my curiosity in re. to practical function... I was following the formation of lips.. pulled upwards above big square upper teeth.. mouth really large and lower lips bare fang like teeth.. strong neck and upper body. features of man- yet beast shows.... to me.
