Artist Statement:
In 2001 Jacinta has had a
major solo show at the Davis
Gallery, Dublin as well as
having paintings selected for
exhibition at the Irish Fine
Arts Showcase Exhibition in
Wales and at the International
Exhibition of Equestrian Art
at Christies Fine Arts,
London.
This is in addition to
successful solo exhibitions at
the Eigse (Carlow) Arts
Festival,Kilkenny Arts Week
and the Wexford Festival
Opera.
An award winning full time
professional artist, Jacinta
graduated with a PhD from
University College, Cork and
now has both a national and
international reputation for
her paintings of rural
landscapes, country life,
period interiors and equine
and dog studies. She lives in
and works from an 18th century
country rectory in the heart
of Wicklow. Her subject matter
depicts the genteel splendour,
pursuits and often
eccentricities of Irelands
surviving country houses and
demesnes.
The empathy she clearly has
for her subjects, allied with
her technical ability,
knowledge of anatomy and acute
observation can be seen in her
evocative paintings of animals
and country artefacts - all
drawn from the farmyard,
gardens and fields surrounding
her home.

other-worldly atmosphere of
moments caught in time and
