Artwork Description:
This work was completed using the studio techniques of aquatint, intaglio, Chine colle, and dry-point. It was executed in oil based French ink on RivesBFK white paper. The turquoise areas were produced via the Chine colle technique, which used mulberry bark paper from Thailand treated with methyl cellulose. The print size is approximately 13 inches x 15 inches. This work was inspired by an albumin print from the A. D. White Architectural Photographs Collection at Cornell University, Library. It features the Church of San Croce in Florence, Italy, which was constructed between 1375 to 1399 by architect Niccoli Matas. Please note that this etching is shipped to the collector without a frame or mat. This keeps the price low and allows the collector personal choice in mat selection and framing. A sturdy cardboard box is employed for shipping the work. The etching is first wrapped in two layers of acid free glassine and then placed between two archival boards. This is next placed into the shipping carton and securely packed with bubble wrap. The Absolute Arts Dot Com price includes all handling costs, shipment supplies, and the coast of the shipment box. Mailing costs are added.
