Artwork Description:

Full title is, NOSFERATU, A Visit to the Blood Factory. This print, from my CINEMA series, is inspired by the classic German silent movie, this one being Nosferatu, whose original title was. . . Nosferatu, eine Symphonie des Grauens. . . shot in 1921 with a European release in 1922. This Expressionist masterpiece that deals with vampires was directed by F. W. Murnau. Max Schreck played Count Orlok the Vampire. This movie was an unauthorized adaptation of Bram Stokers Dracula, with names and other details changed, because the studio could not obtain the novel rights. The work was hand printed and published by the artist at The Center for Works on Paper in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Please note that this etching is shipped to the collector without a frame or mat. This keeps the price low and allows the collector personal choice in mat selection and framing. A sturdy cardboard box is employed for shipping the work. The etching is first wrapped in two layers of acid free glassine and then placed between two archival boards. This is next placed into the shipping carton and securely packed with bubble wrap. The Absolute Arts Dot Com price includes all handling costs, shipment supplies, and the coast of the shipment box. Mailing costs are added. The actual image size, or the size of the zinc plate I used, is 14 inches wide, 35.5 cm, by 11 inches high, 28 cm. The print is 18 inches wide by 15 inches high, or 45.7cm x 38cm. The artist recommends a framed size of 18 by 24 inches or higher. This intaglio etching was executed on RivesBFK white paper with oil based, French inks. There are only eight prints in this FIRST edition of four each edition is only eight prints per run and is printed by hand. Editions two and three will be created at a later date.
