Artwork Description:

Title is, SATYRES, LUTE DANCE, GOATS. This mixed technique etching employed oil-based ink on RivesBFK white paper with mulberry bark paper overlay. The techniques included intaglio, dry point, aquatint, and Chine colle. The image is taken from Pompeiis VILLA OF THE MYSTERIES in the Room of the Initiation. Print size is 15 inches by 18 inches. I hand printed and published this edition at The Center for Works on Paper in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. Please note that this etching is shipped to the collector without a frame or mat. This keeps the price low and allows the collector personal choice in matt selection and framing. A sturdy cardboard box is employed for shipping the work. The etching is first wrapped in two layers of acid free glassine and then placed between two archival boards. This is next placed into the shipping carton and securely packed with bubble wrap.
