Artwork Description:
Etchings
techniques include Intaglio, Aquatint, and Drypoint. French oil based etching ink, Charbonnel brand, on French RivesBFK white paper. Work was hand printed by the Artist at The Open Studio in Printmaking in Philadelphia at The Fleisher Art Memorial, which is associated with the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The print size is 15 inches high x 13 inches wide.
This etching was executed on six separate zinc plates that were placed on the printing press bed in three sets of two. Moreover, the work was inspired by a painted dyptych, entitled ARCHAEOLOGY, which was created by the brilliant Hungarian artist, Ferenczy Karoly, who was born on February 8, 1862 and died March 18, 1917.
This is the third and final edition of this artwork. Featured is print number two.
My etching measures eighteen inches high by fifteen inches wide, or 45.720cm by 40.640cm. Please note that this etching is shipped and sold to the buyer without a frame or mat. This keeps the price reasonable and also allows the collector a wide range of choice in framing selection. For shipment, a sturdy cardboard box is employed. The etching is wrapped in two layers of acid free glassine and then placed between two archival boards. This is next placed into the shipping box and securely packed with bubble wrap. Price includes all handling and packing costs.
