Artwork Description:
This etching was executed on RivesBFK white paper and black ink, Charbonnel brand imported from France. The image is taken from a work that hangs in The National Gallery in London entitled, The Wilton Diptych. Rright panel, by an unknown English or French artist c. 1395. Egg tempera on oak. I executed three ink and pencil drawings of this work to prepare for my etching. The size of my zinc plate used, and consequently the size of my printed image, was 9 inches high by 6 inches wide. The print size is 15 inches high by 11 inches wide, or 38.1cm by 28cm. The work pictured here is an etching from the FIRST edition of twelve works. The work was hand printed and published by the artist at The Center for Works on Paper in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Please note that this etching is shipped to the collector without a frame or mat. This keeps the price low and allows the collector personal choice in matt selection and framing. A sturdy cardboard box is employed for shipping the work. The etching is first wrapped in two layers of acid free glassine and then placed between two archival boards. This is next placed into the shipping carton and securely packed with bubble wrap. The Absolute Arts Dot Com price includes all handling costs, shipment supplies, and the coast of the shipment box. Mailing costs are added.
