Artwork Description:
The brown shrike
It perches on the tops of thorny bushes in search of prey. Several populations of this widespread species form distinctive subspecies which breed in temperate Asia
They are sometimes found as vagrants in Europe and North America.
Their song in the winter quarters is faint and somewhat resembles the call of the rosy starling and often includes mimicry of other birds. The beak remains closed when singing and only throat pulsations are visible although the bird moves its tail up and down while singing.
This piece of art surely be a choice for Bird Lovers. I used different shades of semi precious stones to give maximum resemblance to this bird. At some places I used green jade, Green Pysier, Jasper, Onyx, Italian, Ratak, Yellow Pysier and other semi precious stones.
I gave octagonal shape to this piece so that any one can use as side table top or can display in the showcase of guest room or in his her office. All these semi precious stones are permanently inlaid in the carved cavities of White Natural Indian Makrana Marble.
