Artwork Description:
The Pitch Apple Tree Clusia rosea is a striking tropical specimen with aerial, body and ground roots. Detail 2 shows a complex formation inside the tree ID601666. It is usually found at the point where major branches intersect. The plaque of flat, smooth bark is apparently form for tangled aerial roots writhing in different directions at varying velocities as seen in their sizes, colors, locations. The female tree does not exhibit this type of formation.
The image has a double mat, gold frame with heavy duty clear acrylic glazing. Framed size is 12 X 16 H.
