Artist Statement:
My Paper Craft is the cutting art.
What do I cut?
I want to cut Japanese traditional design = MONYOU.
I have been interested in Japanese MONYOU for a long time and made own artwork .
So, ever since 2002, I have been developing my own style.
I use Japanese traditional paper WASHI for a basic canvas, and dye or turn up WASHI in various original colors.
Material is mixed media, mainly Japanese traditional medium. For example, gold and silver leaf, mica, Japanese paint = iwaenogu, Indian ink = sumi, acrylic, water-ink etc.
Please enjoy my artworks.
Recently, I am looking for whoever want to use my design as decoration(pattern) for architecture, wall-design, partition panel, print-textile.
Please contact me, if you have an interest in my idea.
