Since childhood she has had a
strong preference for any form
of *being creative*.
After her training to be a
plastic arts teacher, she
taught at secondary schools
for many years.
She took lessons in drawing
and painting at the art
academy in Temse for a period
of ten years. There she
specialized in advertising
arts, illustrative work,
portrait and life study.
Her love of light, warmth and
nature, her interest in
mathematics and her ability to
work with water colours have
formed the basis to develop a
very special technique.
The remarkable style in most
of her works is the sublime
structure of her subject in
triangles. This method of
painting makes her immediately
recognizable and distinguishes
her from many other artists.
Imelda exhibits her works of
art in Belgium and abroad.
She has already obtained many
awards and honourable
mentions.
