Artist Statement:
‘’My paintings and sculptures
are the vehicle through which
I communicate best my feelings
and thoughts. I strive to
create works which do not only
speak aesthetics and visual
pleasure but which have a more
profound meaning at least for
me. Many of my landscapes
dress abstract shades and
tones of blended hues which
take the landscape to
something more then just what
everyone sees around him. For
me a landscape is just a veil
that incorporates beneath it
mystic textures, feelings,
tones and human tragedies. My
panels are usually prepared
with gesso and other materials
taken directly from the spots
I paint so as to create a
rapport or direct link with my
works and the actual spot that
serve as an inspiration.
Everything, even the simplest
thought can be the trigger to
an abstract composition. Some
of my abstracts have been
described as ‘painted
relieves’ due to their
three-dimensional effects and
strong texture which is
created by ‘objets-trouve`’.
My ceramics and mixed media
have moved from sacred themes
to more natural themes
especially the human figure.
Creating for me is
fundamental. My art fills me
with joy’’.
