Artwork Description:
This etching uses a mix of techniques including dry point, intaglio, and aquatint, and it is from an edition of only ten. The image is from a photograph I shot atop Notre Dame Cathedral in 1987 of gargoyles overlooking the city of Paris. I manipulate light and dark areas in my etchings to create the optical illusion of a textured surface. The image size is 8 inches 20.32 cm wide by 6 inches wide 15.24 cm. The print size is approximately 11 inches high by 15 inches wide. I hand printed and published this edition at The Center for Works on Paper in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. Please note that this etching is shipped to the collector without a frame or mat. This keeps the price low and allows the collector personal choice in matt selection and framing. A sturdy cardboard box is employed for shipping the work. The etching is first wrapped in two layers of acid free glassine and then placed between two archival boards. This is next placed into the shipping carton and securely packed with bubble wrap. The Absolute Arts Dot Com price includes all handling costs, shipment supplies, and the coast of the shipment box. Mailing costs are added.
