Artists Describing Their Art:

Daniel Clarke - Daniel E. Clarke is a Los Angeles Native who has been painting his entire career in the Los Angeles area. His art education has included studying under the internationally famous Timothy Clark, UCLA Extension University, and Glendale College. He has explored both pictorial and abstract designs but is dedicated to a free flow of color and dynamic composition. Mr. Clarke has concentrated on the acrylic and watercolor medium, and paints on location in his Los Angeles based studio. He also maintains his paintings and sales in his own company called Berrypunch Gallery. ...

Donna Gallant - Art is a daily routine in my life. I see, hear, taste, feel and smell the life that surrounds me and I am inspired by the simplest aspects of this world. Whether it be the way the light hits an object or the way objects or forms move in space. I find it all so fascinating and alive. I try to portray these experiences and expressions through my art making....

Pol Ledent - I am a self-taught artist. I was born in Belgium o, 23rd October 1952. I started painting in 1995 . I took some drawing lessons in the art academy in Dinant. I try to paint the landscapes of the countryside where I am living : the southern part of Belgium. Firts I took part in many collective exhibitions . Than, I had personal exhibitions in Rochehaut (Galerie La Potele), in Dinant (Galerie L'impression), in Paris (Rive Gauche Galerie Artimus) in Brussels (Galerie G-Loft).In 2004, I had three exhibitions, again In Rochehaut, galerie La Potele in May. Then, in September Exhibition Libr'art in Libramont. In November, Galerie Impression in Dinant. What people like most in my paintings are the colours. My art doesn't speak to the intellect but to the soul and to the feelings. Talink the risk to seem old fashioned , I would say it is rather romantic. I wish you much pleasure looking at my paintings. Pol Ledent ...

Eve Co - I began painting and drawing in 1987 and have not stopped. I have a wide range from, landscapes, still-lifes, Hubble art galaxies nebulas, abstracts, florals, architectural art and so much more. I draw every day and paint as much as I can afford. I paint more watercolors than acrylic and oil canvas art. I would prefer more canvas art, but I make do with what I have. I try to express myself in artwork as well as with words. I paint landscapes, the glorious colors of nature, water, the ever expressive sky and more, primarily with watercolors on paper. These paintings are usually thought out and planned because they represent nature as I see nature. I paint still-lifes of everyday objects. To teach me about one particular color, shading and or painting glass. I think of still-lifes as a learning process that literally has me pulling my hair out in frustration, but I still paint through how they make me feel... I am fascinated with Hubble Space Technology so, I paint galaxies and nebulas on canvas with acrylic paints. I have sold many of these paintings and I must admit they are some of my favorite subjects...

Austen Pinkerton - Artists Statement Austen Pinkerton If I turn my mind to it very quickly I can come up with several ideas for works aEUR|paintings, drawings, or sculptures. Sometimes ideas come to me when I least expect it, or when my mind is on other things. Ideas can be related to my current experiences, or to my feelings about things that are happening to me in my life at that particular time. Alternatively they can be related to a current interest, or something that occupies my attention at that moment, and my ideas and feelings about which Id like to share with others. A lot of my work is autobiographicalaEUR|either directly or indirectly, consciously or subconsciously. It is frequently very personal, and expresses events or circumstances or experiences in my life. I usually work in either Acrylic on Canvas, Crayon or Pastel, or both together, with Gouache, on card, Drawing in pencil, or Ink, or both, or with creating SculptureaEUR|for which I use fired artists clay. Sculpture follows a completely different set of rules and values from two-dimensional art, obviously, I think of it as Drawing in three dimensions and I take this into account when creating mine. In...

Lynda Lehmann - I have participated in numerous juried shows and had solo shows of my paintings. Ive sold my photography and digital art online, in galleries and other real-time venues, although I am currently marketing my work primarily online. My stock art sells well and Ive sold at least 2400 images in that venue. Life events had steered me away from painting but I am jumping back into that part of my process and hope to have new paintings online within the next few months. OTHER STUFF My painting Bibliophiles Dream has been featured on the cover of the Insights Journal of Austin Seminary. My paining Damariscotta Dream has been used for the cover of Chuck Sweetmans poetry chapbook published by Dream Horse Press. My image Enchanted Forest was used by the Sierra Club in their online feature Daily Ray of Hope. The Yellow Door has been published in Long Islands Canvas Magazine. I was a featured artist at Imagekind in July and have been featured from time to time on my other sites as well. Luise Andersen - Luise'Mignon' Andersen Luise'Mignon' Andersen has only recently begun to reveal her lifes work. Soon after her debut she exploded onto the mainstream art world. Her breathtaking pieces have captured international interest. The stories Luise'Mignon' is telling through her truly deep, layered works seem to decipher the past and foretell the future, perhaps sharing her window to other dimensions and a seventh sense. Her detailed acrylic'Mignon' series speaks to the beholder. They inspire raw emotion and ignite ones imagination. The indescribable nature of the "Duree De Ma Vie" in particular has a growing portion of the art community considering it the conception of an entirely new style. Lucille Rella - Color, I can't imagine life without it. We are surrounded by it. Our attention is drawn to it and it creates a variety of moods in our environment. It motivates me to paint. A spectrum of lights and darks, high colors and muted tones get me involved in a painting. The wonderful transparency and spontaneity of the watercolor medium, helps me to utilize these qualities in expressing my art work. ...

Ghassan Rached - I am a geoscientist. I paint, but painting is only a hobby. I paint, whenever I can spare the time, what is relaxing, touches my heart and pleasant to me for enjoyment. I love to use oil and watercolor as media to express beauty. Comments of visitors would be appreciated....

Deborah Paige Jackson - I love art and design in all forms and medium, in every aspect of my life. It's a part of who I am and something I can't get away from. I try to use true to life situations when possible. My favorite medium is watercolor because of the beauty of it. It seems to have a life of it's own as it flows and connects with the paper. Yet, the medium forces me to think and use extraordinary control. I am at a point in my life where the thought of art, design, and all the components involved in them consume my thinking. It shows up in my home in decorating, in my garden with landscaping, in my work, even with my family. I look forward to increasing my art presence in my portfolio here and in as many venues as possible. To all who view my work, I wish you much enjoyment. ...

Renee Rutana - As a child, I was fascinated by the vibrant colors of sunsets, the seasons, flowers and certain landscapes. But all of my life I have suffered from severe asthma. While the other children were outside enjoying the snow or jumping in the fallen leaves, blooming flowers of spring, etc. I was inside, looking out the window wishing I could be a part of it. I would never have acquired my artistic skills if it hadn't been for my asthma. I learned to draw and paint, due to many times staying home in bed or at the hospitals (for a couple weeks at a time)with not much to do. It was my escape, a cherished place I could create and imagine I was there instead. While these days my asthma is better, thanks to new medications, I still feel the joy in my heart of creating a special window to the world, my world, for those also interested to see too. My goal as an artist was to paint these subjects capturing the very things that change quickly due to the season or weather or aging. I wanted to shed light on every day things that many people take ...

Lucy Arnold - To see more of my artwork, please visit my website at www.lucyarnold.com. I love color, and that is my primary tool of expression. Intense color is the one characteristic that all my artworks in numerous styles and media have in common. I use color in abstract pieces to show balance, transformation, and interaction of energies. These pieces are created in many layers. Something of each layer is allowed to show through to increase the sense of multiple dimensions. An internal vision or feeling may serve as my inspiration. A stray bit of nature such as a feather, leaf, or shell may also be the starting point of creativity. A simple object may ignite a powerful internal reaction as inner and outer nature meet. Whether the finished piece is a highly realistic depiction or completely abstract, I strive to imbue my art with a sense of the mystery, beauty, and sacredness I find in the world and universe. ...

Thinn Thinn - I like to draw people on the street . Especially I love to draw women and kids. I want to share story of people on the street and my country culture. I used to use different kinds of media. I mostly used watercolor and pen. ...
