Ghassan Rached - I am a geoscientist. I paint, but painting is only a hobby. I paint, whenever I can spare the time, what is relaxing, touches my heart and pleasant to me for enjoyment. I love to use oil and watercolor as media to express beauty. Comments of visitors would be appreciated....
Dana Zivanovits - Dana Zivanovits was born in 1958 in Columbus, Ohio and received his art training from the Columbus College of Art and Design (1978 to 1982). After art school, he went abroad for a year and studied the art of the old masters in London, Paris, Madrid, Rome and Venice. Returning to his studio in Columbus to develop these influences into a new body of work, he then traveled to Mexico and studied the sculpture and painting of that country for an extended period. The unique and vivid colors of Palenque and Vera Cruz intensified his palette. After a period in Ohio, he then moved to Venice Beach, California where the brilliant light of the region reinforced his desire to capture effects of sunlight and atmosphere. Returning to Ohio in 1995, he has continued to paint themes deriving inspiration form sources such as world mythology, classic and B-grade cinema, literature and dreams. However his primary inspiration is direct observation from nature, versus an approach based in art theories or cultural critique. Dana has been widely represented by galleries and exhibition projects including Julie Rico and Mega Boom in Los Angeles, the Venice Art Detour, Around the Coyote Festival in Chicago ...
Thomai Kontou - Thomai Kontou CURRICULUM VITAE Thomai Kontou learned sketching from 1971 to 1978 in Athens, in the Vrassida Vlahopoulos and Theodoros Drossos ateliers. She was taught painting by Yannis Tsarouhis, while she learned the Fresco Technique by Dimitris Kostopoulos. She is continuously present in the Artistic area since 1973 with 22 individual exhibitions and has taken part in 260 group shows in Greece and abroad. She participated in 11 BIENNALES: 1996 in Belgrade, 1998 in Mexico, 1999 and 2001 in Pisa aEUR" Italy and in 2002 and 2004 in Poland, 2005 in Nikcic - Serbia and Ankara aEUR" Turkey. 2006 in Victoria aEUR" Canada, and in the International Spanish Flu Mail Art Biennial in Hungary. 2007 in aEURoe2 Medial Art BiennialaEUR? in London, England. 2007 it is one from the two Greek attendances, that took part in the program "Scenes and Sounds of My City" that was co-organised by the central UNESCO in Paris and the Sharjah Biennial 8, the United Arab Emirates. Joanna Batherson - My inspiration for art has come from drawing and the nature surrounding our world. My painting began as a hobby and through taking many courses and instruction from various Maine artists, traveling in USA and abroad, and moving to beautiful California,it has become a wonderful and fulfilling part of my life....

Austen Pinkerton - Artists Statement Austen Pinkerton If I turn my mind to it very quickly I can come up with several ideas for works aEUR|paintings, drawings, or sculptures. Sometimes ideas come to me when I least expect it, or when my mind is on other things. Ideas can be related to my current experiences, or to my feelings about things that are happening to me in my life at that particular time. Alternatively they can be related to a current interest, or something that occupies my attention at that moment, and my ideas and feelings about which Id like to share with others. A lot of my work is autobiographicalaEUR|either directly or indirectly, consciously or subconsciously. It is frequently very personal, and expresses events or circumstances or experiences in my life. I usually work in either Acrylic on Canvas, Crayon or Pastel, or both together, with Gouache, on card, Drawing in pencil, or Ink, or both, or with creating SculptureaEUR|for which I use fired artists clay. Sculpture follows a completely different set of rules and values from two-dimensional art, obviously, I think of it as Drawing in three dimensions and I take this into account when creating mine.
