Artists Describing Their Art:
David Evans - My artistic driving force is my continued obsession with four motifs - people, bicycles, buildings and landscape. I sometimes interpret these singly or coalesced within one work. The underlining inspiration for a good deal of my work comes from re-working and distorting quite traditional themes from art, literature, poetry and music. I like to jump the margins between illustration and fine art. Sifting recently through my work, observations, ideas and responses, I think itaEURtms fair to say that I see life, art and my surroundings in a somewhat quirky and whimsical visual wayaEUR| David Evans - Macclesfield Cheshire ...
Amimra Mimura - My artwork as A.Mimura is much known in different media such as the internet where A.Mimura facebook have more than thousands followers from the entire world. The work of A.Mimura is not an easy work because it's trespassed by expressionism and erotism creating a very unique language that remains provocative and simultaneously firm before the observer. In the line of Ernest Ludwig Krichner, Oskar Kokoschka, Otto Dix, Wassily Kandinsky, Egon Schiele, James Ensor, Munch, Picasso, etc, the work of Mimura goes beyond the mere sensation of reality, it gives you the vision of the psychological impression of everyday life experience touched by the fire of metaphysics. A.Mimura makes his position in Art as an independent artist. The naked and the human body, the mythological fauna, landscapes of the soul, which reflects a state of mind are the themes that A.Mimura explore using different styles and approaches with a proprietary position similar but oppositely distinct to Egon Schiele "everything, living, is dying," to Mimura "everything, dying, is living". ...
Dominick Taranto - I was born in Brooklyn, New York and as a young boy I always loved to draw. While in elementary school, my teacher recommended that I attend a high school specializing in art. I enrolled in the high school for industrial art in New York City. One of my classes was in architecture. My teacher selected me for a part time job in the architectural firm of Shreve Lamb and Harmon, one of the most famous architectural firms in NYC at the time. After high school I attended Pratt institute where I continued to study architecture. Shortly afterward I obtained my architectural license and enjoyed over 50 years in practice and specialized in Healthcare architecture. Occasionally during my active career, I would try to do some painting and drawing but was not able to devote enough time to my artwork. I dreamt of having the time to pursue my passion when I retired. In 2015 my vision became a reality. I added an art studio onto my home in Bergen County where I have lived with my wife for more than 50 years. My paintings consist of my interpretation of personal photographs from my travels and from the Pinterest Website. ...
