Michael Navascues - WELCOME TO THE PORTFOLIO OF MICHAEL NAVASCUES In recent years I have returned to a childhood joy of painting, which I relate to an abiding love of nature and the world's great artists. My work is inspired by places, scenes, and experiences where I have lived and traveled--North Carolina, New England, Germany, Spain, etc. I paint landscapes, waterscapes, gardens--and sometimes, people, buildings, and animals. All my life I have been fascinated by the beautiful changing colors, the light, and the infinite forms in Nature. In my paintings--oils, watercolors, acrylics--I try to capture these meditative moments, and the subtle feelings, moods, and spiritual hints that a scene may awaken in me and the viewer. My work has been exhibited in many local galleries, including three solo shows....

November 2008: I created my transparent watercolor web site www.andremehu-aquarelles.com May 2009: French Red Cross chose five Watercolors of mine to edit them in postal cards August 2009: The trigger: Workshop with spanish artist Dolores Bolanos . She studied fine art with great spanish painter Josep Martinez Lozano (1923-2006) from Llanca. He created the Fondation Martinez Lozano the first watercolor museum in Europe. This workshop with Dolores was a revelation. She introduced me to the particularity of watercolor. She said us watercolor is to "play with water and pigments". With her I have released my imagination, my creativity, and ...

Tan Chun Chiu - T. C. Chiu was born in China and developed an interest in art when he was a young child. He began his art studies in China and continued when he came to America in 1974. His delicate work is the combination of the essential qualities of traditional realism and contemporary painting techniques. Accomplished in a wide range of media, he incessantly challenges his mastery of watercolor, oil and printmaking. Many subjects inspire the widely traveled artist.
