Artist Statement:
If I were asked to describe myself, on reflection I would have to say that I consider myself to be a starving,
self-representing artist with an insatiable need to feed my ‘inner hunger’ through my artwork.
My greatest desire, artistically, is to create works that are both ‘one of a kind’, whilst also remaining ‘visually pleasing’.
Whilst i still find myself happily exploring, and experimenting with many different artforms, I have finally realised, and accepted that my tendency is to lean more towards mixed media, where I strive to entice the viewer want to reach out, touch, and hopefully ‘feel’ the textures within each and every painting.
Whilst colour plays an important role in my artworks, it is the sharp edge of contrast – where light clashes with dark, or the gently blurred edges where colours first meet in combination that really are the areas that intrigue and inspire me most when I am painting.
“My soul lies peacefully in the desire to mimic successfully the many colours gifted to us in God’s worldly palette”....
