  • Artists Describing Their Art:

Amanda Hubik - sometimes words aren't the right way to express emotions or feelings ... colours help to convey such things, as do shapes ... smooth lines, or hard edges ... abstract art, to me, is the most realistic and understandable way to transmit what is inside one person to another person. i paint in watercolours, acrylics, oils, and just recently gouache. i try not to limit myself, and have painted on paper, canvas, wood panel, and anything else that is within arm's reach! i am constantly searching for a way to create something new, something exciting, something unexpected and surprising. ...

James Parker - Painting, drawing, and to a lesser degree, photography, have been the driving creative force in my life for the past two years. The changing circumstances of life have allowed this to happen, and for this I am quite grateful. Pin and ink, liquid watercolors, acrylics, and the mixing of mediums are used for these works. My art is somewhere between reality and fantasy, with perhaps a unique style (as all are) which is slowly maturing. Much of my work I try to make light, colorful and fun, and even somewhat premitive with a touch of fantasy. Rustic little cabin scenes, and most seascapes perhaps show this best. Landscapes--mountains, trees, ocean and beach scenes, these are my favorite subjects. I prefer to work quite small. Most paintings and drawings come with wooden 11"X14" frames and hand selected colored mattes. These smaller sized works I have found to be excellent for creating pictures that are both colorful enough and detailed enough to carry an "impact". A few fine art's photographs taken back in the late eighties, some of which were published by a national calendar company in 1989 and 90 are also offered here. Those hundreds of hours looking ...

Syed Arif - I enjoy painting realistic as well as abstract mostly in watercolors. As an artist I love to do human forms for its naturally wonderful structure, color and texture. I also paint in mixed media (Oils, Pencil, Pastels). But watercolor remains my personal favourite as I finds it quiet amazing to use and experiment for its versatality. I never had any formal training to say so, nor I joined any fine arts school, what ever I did and doing it's my own experience with paintings. I started at the age of 8 when I was in 3rd std. since then I am my own teacher. I did take references from reputed artist from time to time for self improvement. I don't like using watercolors as they are meant to be, rather I like to paint them drier, like acrylic or oils may be. I love doing abstract things, anything in precise, figures, still-life, landscapes, flowers and many thing. But as I have already mentioned I am carving to do realistic human nudes, getting hands on them on the lines of Michael Angelo and Da Vince, they were great artists. Been practising a lot. I hate sticking to routine ...

Stephanie Hayden - My work varies in style, i try to capture moments of my life on different canvases, from watercolours, acrylics, to montages, sculpture and my photography. Much of my work is dark & disturbing and i can attribute it to the fact that until recently i was registered blind, legally, having been born with dislocated lenses. The more vibrant & colourful works are from my later period after i had surgery to implant interocular lenses, thus i now see the world in a totally different way. This can be seen across my portfolio....

Dave Martsolf - Dave Martsolf Dave Martsolf was born in 1949 in Kansas, moved to Western Pennsylvania in early childhood and at age 12 moved to New Hampshire where he resides today. MartsolfaEURtms father and grandfather were architects and his mother a professional photographer. Martsolf attended MIT and later UNH where he earned a degree in Fine Arts. His early work was influenced by the great masters and others such as the post-impressionists Miro, Matisse, Kandinsky, Klee, Picasso, and the surrealist Salvador Dali. Architectural instincts developed due to his close association with architecture in his youth. DaveaEURtms focus has been in visual arts his entire life. His style extends from realism to surrealistic to fantasy and abstraction. His work uses the mediums of oils, watercolors, inks and pencils, to the more technically-oriented media of computer-based art. Beginning in the late 80aEURtms Martsolf spent productive time with the tools of Bryce, Poser, KaiaEURtms Power Tools, and similar photo editing and photo manipulation products. He was creator, owner and artistic director of Damsel Software Group in the 1990aEUR2s as a producer and manufacturer of original content screen savers. Today, Dave has returned to handmade art. He continues ...

Johann Van Den Noort - Dutch native, painter and artist JOHANN VAN DEN NOORT (Kampen 1940) has an undeniable bond with the sea and therefore maintains a unique position within the modern art world. His passion for the sea and the way this passion is visualized through his original art form, secures him a position in the ranks of today's art world. JOHANN VAN DEN NOORT's paintings summon feelings of sovereignty. An exuberance arising from meeting the elements and visually capturing an abstract image into an emotoinal reality. Wim van der Beek, arteditor. JOHANN VAN DEN NOORT dominates all technics in the art like: oilpaintings, watercolours, gouache, graphics, ceramics and sculptures. His total oeuvre consists of over 5000 pieces of art. There are a lot of publications from him by radio, TV, newspapers, artmagazines and catalogues.
